Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation Announces Emergency Centre Campaign Chair
Surrey BC - Realtor and Surrey resident, Chris Midmore, has been named Chair of Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation's Emergency Centre Campaign. Chris will work alongside Honorary Campaign Chair, Herb Dhaliwal, to lead the Foundation to its $15 million campaign goal.
Funds raised during the Foundation's campaign will supplement the $30 million the Provincial Government has earmarked for a new Emergency Centre at Surrey Memorial.
Chris Midmore has been an active community volunteer for many years, including seven years with Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation, four of which were spent as Chair of its Board of Directors. A commercial real estate broker for Macdonald Commercial Real Estate Services Ltd, Chris and his wife Nancy moved to Surrey in 1992. His connection to Surrey runs deep as he spent his childhood summers at his family's recreational property in Ocean Park.
Surrey Memorial Hospital is the second largest hospital in British Columbia serving over 600,000 people in an area stretching from Surrey to Delta, from Langley to White Rock. It has the busiest Emergency in the province, providing care to almost 70,000 patients each year, 20,000 of which are children.
Since its inception in 1992, Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation has raised more than $45 million to fund urgently-needed medical equipment, innovative programs, training, and research. New equipment is purchased with the help of the community through Foundation-raised dollars.
