Indo-Canadian Business Association makes its best-ever donation to SMH
Surrey BC - The Indo-Canadian Business Association (I-CBA) has made its largest donation to Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation to date - more than doubling last year's amount - thanks to its 6th annual golf tournament.
The I-CBA has raised $12,000 this year for the hospital's Children's Health Centre. The donation follows September's Networking Golf Tournament, held at Morgan Creek Golf Course.
"The Indo-Canadian Business Association has shown it is eager to help Surrey Memorial Hospital by raising money for the Foundation," says Foundation interim President/CEO Laurie Tetarenko. "The success of this year's golf tournament has allowed the association to make its most generous donation to the hospital so far."
The I-CBA assists and promotes business by providing guest speakers and educational seminars, monitoring of current issues of concern to the community, and hosting social functions to allow members to get to know one another. The membership in the association is open to all who are interested. It is a non-political and non-partisan association.
Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation helps fund the hospital's urgently-needed equipment each year. In addition, the Foundation has set a goal of $15-million for its Emergency Centre Campaign, which will be officially launched in the spring of 2007. The money will ensure the hospital's new Emergency Centre is state-of-the-art.
